I am, by far, most effective and productive in the morning, and when I’m working alone. To the point that I’m very guarded about that time period, refusing meetings before 10am and generally resenting interruptions. The irony is, I actually spend that time not literally ‘working’ – more often it’s spent learning something- language of choice, research into economics, writing, or thinking. It *sounds* like not-working, but I’ve always felt like it’s the most important part of my worklife.
The nice thing about it is, it’s still a really effective really effective time period even refocused at working.
The studio has been very busy lately, and so I experience this constant tug of war between delight that there are so many people sewing and projects being made, and anxiety that I won’t have time to finish the tasks I’d set for myself.
Because, the reality is, sewing is much more efficient if you have all the machines to yourself :)
So, for the past few weeks I’ve been going in early and making big progress on spring samples (we need both photo samples and sales samples, so there’s multiples of each style/color.)
Check back tuesday for images from our photoshoot!
