This is the thing I’ve been looking for- and hopefully there are some others of you out there who might like to participate as well :)

www.arabiclanguage.me

An Arabic language conversation group, all levels welcome. Working with Kifah- my arabic teacher and collaborator on translation and editing projects- we’ve set up a new website to gather together people and projects locally related to this language.  If this is you, please join the newsletter (top of page at arabiclanguage.me) and let us know what your interests are!

The impetus behind this site is to be the resource I was looking for when I decided to start learning for real a few years ago. At that point in time, there weren’t any formal lessons or resources available locally-  neither at the University or local colleges. These days, Kifah is offering classes in Modern Standard Arabic at the Language Exchange, and as the interest level in the language seems to be growing, we hope to meet more people, both learners and speakers!
